Introducing the SORALUCE TRD universal machining center, engineered with Moldmakers in mind, it’s available in 4+2-axis, 5-axis, and 6-axis configurations, all offering impressive 26,455 lbs of table load capacity. The Soraluce TRD is configured with an integrated rotary milling table for high-precision continuous machining with positioning of 0.001º and rotational accuracy of ± 2.5”. The TRD30 features a 63” x 63” rotary table and the TRD35 features a 63” diameter table embedded into the center of the 137” x 47” fixed T-slot table.

Additional flexibility is delivered with standard Soraluce designed and manufactured universal or orthogonal heads, permitting 4 + 2 axis machining. Available in ISO50 BIG Plus or HSK100 and indexing increments of 2.5°, 1°, or 0.001° in both the vertical and diagonal joints. For ultimate capability, the universal heads are also available in continuous
contouring designs for full 6-axis machining capability. The standard water-cooled inline spindle motor for the Soraluce TRD is 57/65 HP with 664/770 ft-lbs of torque, and all the mechanical transmission heads are capable of spindle speeds up to 7000 RPM.
Alternatively, the TRD can be equipped with single C-axis high-speed head or the orthogonal design 2-axis high-speed head, equipped with electrospindles. These electrospindles can provide 12,000 RPM or 15,000 RPM with HSK100 or up to 30,000 RPM with HSK63. The vertical high-speed continuous positioning head (torque motor, C-axis), allows 5 axes continuous machining using the rotary table, and the orthogonal high-speed continuous positioning head (torque motor, A & C axes), allows 5-axis continuous machining across the full machine travel and 6-axis continuous machining using the rotary table, the latter being a very flexible solution, ideal for machining molds, as it allows high roughing capacity and fine finishing.
All TRD machining centers feature 90” of swing inside the machine enclosure and 63” of Z-axis (vertical) travel. Available in two sizes, TRD30 offers 118” of longitudinal X-axis travel while the larger TRD35 features 137” in X-axis. Both the TRD30 and TRD35 are available with either 51” or 59” of Y-axis (cross) travel.
The Soraluce TRD is available with Soraluce chatter eliminating DAS+® Dynamic Active Stabilizer system, which guarantees optimal stock removal capabilities, achieving an increase in productivity of up to 300%. DAS+® system also improves the quality of the surface finish of machined surfaces, of great importance to moldmakers, while extending tool life. To eliminate chatter, DAS+® monitors the machining process and then selects the best technological solution to eliminate vibrations, such as built-in actuators located in the ram, SST (spindle speed tuning) which automatically selects the optimum spindle speed, or SSV (spindle speed variation) which automatically provides a continuous harmonic oscillation of the spindle speed.
The work area of the machine is completely enclosed and includes roof guarding that integrates two front sliding doors and one at the back on the left, facilitating access to the work area from the front and rear for set-up and measuring operations. Available with your choice of Heidenhain TNC7, Siemens Sinumerik One, or Fanuc 31i-B5 CNC, the operator panel is incorporated into a hanging pendant arm that can be positioned to work from either the front or rear side of the machine, as per operator preference, thus providing suitable control over the entire operation.
